Opening speech

A video of the opening of the exposition in Leiden at the new years meeting of the Honorary Consul General of Turkey. We gave a short explenation of our work and mission. Istanbul Amsterdam MEETUP will be an ongoing event. Where we share culture by means of arts.

We are preparing now for the exposition which will be in Istanbul this year. Striving to make it a real meetup of the two countries.

Exposition in Leiden a succes

We received positive feedback from the Honorary Consulate-General of Turkey that the exposition ‘Istanbul meets Leiden’, gets a lot of attention. Daily visitors come to look at our paintings. The newspaper of Leiden also featured an article on the exposition.

Part of the attention is due to paintings which Hakan and Marcel created on the windows of the consulate. Soon we will add some postings to get an idea of this special exposition. (for the ones who can’t bring the consulate in Leiden a visit ;))

Looking back on the exposition

Picture1The exhibit in Amsterdam is over and the paintings are packed and stored. Looking back on the three weeks exhibit, we can say we have received many visitors. Most of them had some kind of Turkisch-Dutch background. Either from Turkish parents, or Turkish people who just moved here. Also Dutch people came to visit who have some kind of fond connection with Turkey. It was a good time and we enjoyed the stories people told us.

The Istanbul Amsterdam MEETUP is an ongoing event. Keep following us, the collection will grow over time as we will seek to have expositions at more places in The Netherlands and Turkey. In the meantime we are back to the ezel to make more paintings.
