Istanbul Amsterdam MEETUP will be an ongoing event. So we will go from city to city. We have the ambition to keep an exposition in Istanbul summer next year. We are excited to announce that Sandra Veenstra, storytelling photographer of Amsterdam, will join our exhibit in Istanbul.
Sandra’s work is characterised by colourful images of daily life in Amsterdam. Her work will give the Turkish public the chance to meet the colourful people and places of Amsterdam.

The exhibit in Amsterdam is over and the paintings are packed and stored. Looking back on the three weeks exhibit, we can say we have received many visitors. Most of them had some kind of Turkisch-Dutch background. Either from Turkish parents, or Turkish people who just moved here. Also Dutch people came to visit who have some kind of fond connection with Turkey. It was a good time and we enjoyed the stories people told us.
The Istanbul Amsterdam MEETUP is an ongoing event. Keep following us, the collection will grow over time as we will seek to have expositions at more places in The Netherlands and Turkey. In the meantime we are back to the ezel to make more paintings.
Saturday we had the opening of the exposition in Gallery LBS4. The exposition was opened with an introduction by Marcel and Haken and complimented with a short speech of Ferhat Özgur, art professor at the Düzce University in Turkey.

We have printed 2.500 flyers to distribute in galleries, libraries, cultural centres etc. There is always a lot going on in Amsterdam so we need to make some effort to get noticed.
We can present a new diptych; ‘Tea at the Bosphorus’ (on a misty day). It comes together with a painting called A ‘Beer at the Amstel’ which is under construction.
A Turkish tea anyone?
The Dutch tulips have had a last modification and is ready for the soon to come exhibition at LBS4.
